Ancestry.com is now available for FREE wherever you have internet access through your library card!
In order to access Ancestry, follow these steps
Go to Lakehillslibrary.org and click on the catalog link at the top of the page, A new tab will open with the catalog on it, enter your library card number as the name and phone number as the password. Scroll down the left hand column (a list of our online resources). Ancestry should be at the very bottom of the list. If it is not, then check the list, but it has been showing up consistently at the bottom of mine. Click on the Ancestry link and you should be in!
This program will continue for a limited time. Ancestry is available year round at the library as long as you are connected to the library internet.
Ancestry.com is provided by the Lakehills Library Genealogy Society. They purchase the $1,400 per year service, enabling the community to have access to Ancestry for genealogy research assistance. They raise the money for this service by having an annual garage sale fundraiser here at the library, usually in September. What they don’t raise at the fundraiser, they contribute themselves. It doesn’t look like they will be able to hold a fundraiser this fall, so if you want to help these hard working researchers out, please send your donation ($5, $10, anything at all will help) to the Lakehills Area Library, 7200 FM 1283, Lakehills TX 78063. Make sure you note that the donation is for the genealogy group. Thank you so much for your support!
